Innovator Founder Visa Application Details

Introduction

The Innovator Founder Visa is a UK visa category for entrepreneurs who wish to establish and run an innovative, viable, and scalable business in the UK. This visa replaced the Innovator and Start-up visas in April 2023, simplifying the process while maintaining strict eligibility requirements.

Successful applicants must be endorsed by an approved endorsing body and show that their business idea is unique and has the potential for growth and sustainability in the UK economy.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for an Innovator Founder Visa, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Endorsement from a UK-approved endorsing body confirming the business is:
    • Innovative – A unique business idea not currently in the market.
    • Viable – A well-structured business plan showing long-term sustainability.
    • Scalable – The potential for growth and job creation in the UK.
  • English Language Proficiency – Applicants must prove their English language ability (CEFR level B2).
  • Investment Funds (if required) – Unlike the previous visa categories, there is no fixed minimum investment requirement. However, applicants must demonstrate they have sufficient funds to develop their business.
  • Maintenance Funds – Applicants must show they can support themselves financially while establishing their business.
